Your curiosity, on your terms.

A friend.
With boundaries.

Here’s what the website does, and how the browser extension currently works. The extension is in development; this page will be updated if its data practices change.

This website

This is a public product website. It has no sign-in, mailing-list form, advertising tracker, or third-party analytics added by us. Choosing a look changes only the preview on this page; it doesn’t read your extension settings or browsing activity.

This site is hosted by Vercel. Its hosting infrastructure processes ordinary requests, such as your IP address and browser information, to deliver and secure the website. Visiting Instagram, GitHub, the Chrome Web Store or the creator’s website takes you to another service with its own policies.

The browser companion

Peek and interest suggestions are separate choices. You can use the companion without enabling recognition. Chrome’s website access permission is still necessary for the extension to display a companion on ordinary websites.

Appearance, saved interests and companion preferences are stored in your browser. There is no Peekscape account system or server receiving recognition data in the current implementation.

Optional interest suggestions

When you enable suggestions and grant website access, local matching uses settled page titles. Supported YouTube pages can also use video keyword metadata. It does not read search-field keystrokes or scrape page bodies. Known private workspaces, common account and payment routes, and local-network pages are skipped.

Saved matching evidence uses title fingerprints and topic matches rather than raw titles or URLs. Evidence is capped at 100 records and retained for up to 30 calendar days. Matching uses a bundled dictionary; no remote AI model or model download is required.

You stay in control

You can switch suggestions off, review or dismiss suggested topics, reset saved interests, and manage website access through the extension. Turning off suggestions keeps your saved topics until you reset them. Revoking all Chrome website access prevents the extension from placing Peek on those pages.
